I love how Germany decorates for the Easter season. Here is a little of their inspiration!

Across the country, there will be eggs hanging from the small trees in front yards. Doors will be festooned.
There is nothing fussy or overdone. Fashing, their equivalent of the Mardi Gras season, brings on a season of local festivities and parades. These event can be very elegant with black tie and tiny masks. Others are earthy and in costume.
But come Ash Wednesday, that all ends. Lent begins. The light airy celebration of spring and Easter comes out.
I love this large vine basket or is it a wreath in a box holding the tree with eggs and ribbons. Perfect for our Easter Tree. Glad I have a gift card for the craft stores. I am going on a box hunt! An old wooden box or galvanized metal would be just perfect! Our reclaimed wood large tray will more than do if there is no charming box to be found.
Our family had Easter trees in the past. Actually, it was a large paper or felt tree affixed to the wall in our dining area. We had paper ornaments the girls colored and glittered. That inspiration came from the book No Ordinary Home. Readings for Holy Week has been our most frequent custom.
This year, I want us to be more intentional with the Easter Tree helping us, a hands on practice to guide us through this season of Hope and Reconciliation.
Don’t you love the pussy willows and ribbons intertwined with the vines! Look closely and you’ll see clear eggs painted with white flowers and yellow centers. Those glitter fruits are perfect for a touch of sparkle and drama! I have just the rabbit to nestle at the base of the branch tree.
Spring when it comes, she will be so welcomed this year. Though it is till bitter cold and snow is on the ground we have begun our Lenten season with an Easter tree.
