christmas time is here

Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of the year

Christmas time is here! We all love just sitting in the living room to read or catch up with each other at the end of the day.

sofas & pillows

Snowflakes in the air
Carols everywhere
Olden times and ancient rhymes
Of love and dreams to share

Napping is known to happen here as well as TV watching.  Pillows and blankets keep us comfortable. It is not usually this neat!

Such spirit through the year
Oh, that we could always see
Such spirit through the year…

Treasured stocking made by my oldest, Nancy , ornament from each place we have lived or traveled. precious handmade ornaments by our kids, and mugs for hot chocolate make their appearance every year.

Our game table is moved over to make room for the fresh tree, our first in years!  Meg insisted.

It’s a family affair!

Amy is the decorator in residence.  I put something up; she moves it.  We still have boxes to bring down from the attic. It is a favorite time of the year.

Is this your favorite time of the year?  What do you love about Christmas time?

Christmas Time Is Here was written and originally performed by Vince Guaraldi Trio. It was composed for the 1965 animated TV special A Charlie Brown Christmas.

Pillows from IKEA and Target, blankets from IKEA and Fresh Vintage by Amy, handmade stockings  by Nancy

Beautiful accessories! Many people decorate their homes before the holidays. Thanks to this, it becomes more cozy, and spending time there is very pleasant.

One of my favorite things to do during the season is sitting in the LR with the tree lights on

Linda, I love your idea of having a tree with an ornament from everywhere you’ve lived, and everywhere you have vacationed. I never really thought of getting an ornament from everywhere we’ve vacationed – what a great idea, and what good memories you have as you put each one up!! Wishing you a joyous Christmas! – Patty

Hi Patty, We have been fortunate to live and travel to many places. Ornaments were affordable. And easy to pack! Merry Christmas!

I do love Christmas decorating, but I tend to get really stressed out about it. We moved to a much smaller house without a basement. Unfortunately, all of my “stuff” is either in the attic (reached by those awful pulldown narrow stairs) or in the crawlspace (not good if you’re claustrophobic). But, it’s all up or down and waiting for me to put it where it goes. I’m not putting up my really big tree this year as my husband still isn’t walking on his own so the living room is arranged to meet his needs. The two pencil trees I have…well, both decided the middle 1/3 section didn’t need to have the lights work. So, I’ve got that to figure out. I do love your positive attitude and will try to change mine to match yours!

Morning Marsha, all the changes as we get older isn’t always easy. Thanks for those encouraging words about my attitude helping you. I do keep working on it! we did get started slowly yesterday. Im thinking we will be celebrating the 12 days of Christmasthis year

When the prelite trees lights don’t work we don’t use them. Just put new ones bought last year on sale at Walmart. Who needs that extra aggravation? Thanks for the compliment about attitude. Some days, I do need frequent attitude checks. But not over lights!

Love the simplicity of the design. The red gives life to the room. Nicely done.
