I designed this simple beautiful colorful Easter tablescape by starting with the colorful streamers we used for Meg’s Leap Year 6th birthday party.
The birthday streamers were dangling at eye level as I unpacked the Spring / Easter bins. Most items were bunnies, ducks and pastel. The Peter Rabbit dishes are in the china cabinet.
NOT the USUAL NATURE focused and PASTEL ELEMENTS
The set of eggs stored in a cardboard egg carton happened to be the colorful handpainted wooden pysanky styled eggs.
Happened!? It struck me to use them in a simple way that would include the birthday streamers that were also primary colors like most of the eggs.
The pysanky eggs are bold bright colors with traditional symbols. Learn more about these beautiful eggs here.
bold colors with white and red for easter table
To highlight these bold colors, I used a pristine white tablecloth.
I have a stack of white dinner plates from Home Goods. They are the basic plate I use often when designing a pretty table for my family and friends. Perfect.
Next I added the red soup plates. They are from the discount table at our local Pottery Barn Outlet over 5 years ago. While solid red dishes seems an odd choice, I only have soup plates and dessert ones for accent for many holidays and every day too.
Most of my table collections including china that is versatile for many occasions. To add variety, I use small plates that are decorative. Those range from Dollar Store to fine china.
Pretty tablescapes that we can enjoy and add to our gathering is my goal.
Since this was a simple and easy setting, I used my everyday silverware.
The napkins were purchased from Home Goods several years ago. I bought them for our family Memorial Day gathering. See that fun tablescape here.
simply beautiul centerpiece
I grabbed the long narrow dish and lined up the pysanky eggs in it. Anything you might use for holding your eggs shoould have an edge around it. You don’t wnat othe eggs to roll
The extras I just let them roll gently from my hand along side on the table. Gently so they wouldn’t roll too far away!
Often I use ribbon and candy to add touches of color and a little post dinner treat to my tablescapes.
The peppermint bark from the candy drawer in the dining room buffet was the final touch to the colorful table! I need to restock it for Jim and the grandkids. They all know exactly where to find the candy.
tablescapes can be simple and striking
It was easy and simple! I used what I had and incorporated the birthday streamer all ready hanging from the chandlers.
Don’t discount these cute, fun birthday decorations that can be used in other ways making your table easy and simple to pull together. Also, it means you don’t always need to buy new decor items.
Using my imagination I was able to pull this Easter table together for my family’s enjoyment.

So cute and different. I seemed to get away from all the pastels. Although I do enjoy my Desert Rose, it’s not too pastel.

I had never heard of psyanky eggs, but yours are beautiful. It’s always fun to learn something new! My main dishes are white Pfaltzgraff dishes, but I have others just to change things up. I do love to find colorful little dishes to change up the plate stack. My go to place used to be Pier 1. My problem is my table is set for six (as is yours it seems) so I always have extra!
Happy Leap Year 6th Birthday to your daughter!
