I love this vignette for the spring season! Bunnies and pink florals. For Easter. Are the flowers faux?
Absolutely!
traditional urn for a tradti0nal look
The tradtional urn was a thrift prize that was passed to me by Rosemary of My Home and Travels.
It suits my home style which is a mix of farmhouse and tradtional and a dash of old world elegance. It’s a little of this and that collected over the years.
cute bunnies
These cute woodland bunny salt and pepper shakers look so pretty sitting by the tall brass candles stickholders with dark green tapers.
They are part of one of my this and that collections of cute mini figurines and objects. Novelty items.
Over the years, I have collected holiday and seasonal salt and pepper shakers and other mini “collectables”. They add cuteness to the table and vignettes. Often I will buy 2 sets of shakers to use on our extended dining room table.
Novelirty items are typically seasonal or related to travel destinations. They can sophisticated or kitschy.
This cute bunny is actually an egg cup. I have 6. We do eat soft boiled eggs! There are several styles tucked in the china cabinets. Another small collection.
I love this sweet bunny egg cup. The pink ears and face is so whimsical. I use the egg cup during the Easter and spring season for decoration only. There are 6 of them.
As functioning egg cup for our morning soft boiled eggs, they are a bust. Too shallow so the egg spills out. But they do hold decorated eggs nicely.
These little bunnies are very petite. They hold candles, regular birthday candles. Combined with the fancy vintage salt and pepper shakers a delicate mini vignette is created. This danity arrangement of crystal is so feminine and pretty. A charming look for spring!
The handle you see is a pewter candle snuffer. I use it often to avoid wax spraying on the wall or on the wood surfaces.
faux flower arrangement tips
The faux flowers are cherry blossom branches and white tulips. The fullness of the flowers with the balance of the height of the vase and arrangement perfect for the spot on the long buffet.
The height and. shape of any arrangement is important in creating the perfect vignette. Notice how it is a triangular shape with the top taller than large frame and part of the painting without hiding it. Don’t be afraid to use tall larger vases.
If you don’t think yours looks right try changing the height of the flowers or the vase or the combination. That often will to the trick.
And don’t skimp on flowers and greenery either! I had to learn less is not more when it comes to flower arrangements.
Amy didn’t cut the stems. Since the opening of the urn is so wide, when bend they fit right in and hold their place. She used 7-8 branches.
So what bunch did she cut from? The 20 stem tulip one. It sure did make it easier to fill out the arrangement to perfection!
Cutting faux flowers for Amy is not a problem. As part of the creative process she won’t hesitate to clip and cut the branches or from bunches, however it make them work for her. I don’t know why I think I can’t cut stems.
Guess Amy has freedom that comes from being an artist who sees them to be used not to be kept intact just because.

It can be easy to make a lovely vignette using a few basic principles. To complete your vingette add candles and maybe compememtary objects. I added mini figures. Other items could be eggs, stuffed animals. Look around your home to find items. Don’t be afraid to try items out. Remember, not adding other items is a solution too!
Ready for Spring and Easter Dining Room
I love being able to build on what I have. Honestly, why save any of it or just store it?
I learned that for china, crystal and silver from my mom and dad years ago. We use our special salt and pepper shakers regularly. I’m bringing out the faux flowers too.
See how beautifully the elegant furniture and original beams work and wooden plank floor together for a room to love and use and use over and over.

Great Urn – and it’s holding my kind of flowers. I can’t kill them and they don’t bother my allergies. Faux flowers now are so lifelike.
