Growing with effort…where are you putting your efforts?

Modest harvest

A plentiful harvest from a modest garden.  I am about “squashed” out.

As I walked under the grape vine I said “It smells like grape jelly.”  They are Concord grapes.

As the sweet grand girls walked over the fallen plump ripe grapes, there was a rich sweet aroma in the air.

A new scent for autumn.

“Yes,” Jim said, “Can you imagine how much we could grow with more effort.”

a modest effort

It is a modest garden.  A hobby of sorts.  Expanding a bit each year we settle here even more in to a new rhythm of life.  Past the sixtieth decade with grandchildren and adult children and our two extra blessing ones.

Imagine, how much could we grow with more effort…

Grow with effort.   With prayer, tilling, pruning…with effort.

Make no mistake about it; gardening for growth is hard.

what are you growing?

What are you growing?

Children, a marriage, a home, a life, a ministry, a circle of community.  Are you part of something that is growing? A ministry, a project, a NGO, a church, a small group?

What are you growing?  Your life in Christ?

Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.  John 15:4
